Busbar systems are now the market standard
In addition to by Wohner innovative strength and know-how, the basis of the company’s success is above all its busbar systems – such as the 60Classic system, which is now considered the market standard for power distribution and control technology. Recent new developments include the touch-protected electrical distribution system crosses185Power, the electronic motor starter MOTU C14 and the measuring technique adapter CrossMT.
Wöhner focuses on sustainability and digitization. Product design and materials used are selected and optimized with environmental compatibility in mind. A reduction in the use of plastics combined with the use of bio-based materials from renewable plant raw materials reduces the CO₂ footprint. In addition, the leanest possible structure of the company ensures maximum agility and resilience, especially during difficult times. This means that products can be brought to market within 12 to 18 months.
In the spotlight at IMTS
Three solutions will be presented to the Wohner stand pendant IMTS 2022: CrossBoardelectronic motor starter MOTU C14 and the measuring technique adapter CrossMT.
CrossBoard: modular system solution for machine and plant construction
As a modular system solution, the CrossBoard the ready-to-use range allows safe power distribution up to 160 A. The basic system combines the advantages of a busbar system with traditional wiring on DIN rail. In addition to the existing widths of 225mm and 405mm, it is now available in widths from 500mm to 1100mm – selectable in 100mm increments.
The system, which is supplied as a complete unit and fitted with components without the use of tools, offers built-in touch protection and includes numerous products for power connections and branch circuit protection.
MOTUS C14: Security in a few microseconds
A further highlight of Wohner at IMTS is the innovative electronic starter MOTU C14. Product offers without fuse motor protection in a compact format, with a user-friendly interface. In the event of an error, the electronics shut down the motor in a maximum of 10 microseconds – faster than any fuse and with low system load.
Thanks to C14 technology, the system is intrinsically safe and can be reactivated immediately after a fault has been eliminated. In addition, the motor starter requires 75% less space than conventional solutions and includes a CrossLink interface, making it compatible with all basic Wöhner systems. Finally, the starter has an interactive and guided maintenance and fault management, with many diagnostic functions.
CrossMT: new product category for accelerated digitization
The CrossMT The measurement technology adapter represents a product category in its own right: as a fully electronic, vendor-open measurement technology module, it drives the digitization of CrossBoard. Not only is it suitable for many application scenarios, but it also provides comprehensive information. The CrossMT can be used for main power metering to determine power quality and stability as well as power consumption. It is also suitable for the measurement of motor protection equipment, where determination of motor parameters and condition is required.
The CrossMT adds smart functions to control products that do not have such functions. Not only does it consume very little energy, but it also contributes significantly to greater durability. Finally, the CrossMT can be used in combination with solutions from other manufacturers.
