Jessica Alba in the casting of the adaptation of Confessions at 7:45 am on Netflix


The upcoming series adaptation of Lisa Ungerthe novel Confessions at 7:45 a.m. just found its lead actress in Jessica Alba. The show is currently described as a psychological thriller and will debut on Netflix. In Confessions at 7:45 a.m., Alba will play an overworked mother who finds her life thrown into chaos when she encounters a stranger on the local commuter train. The people Alba’s character thought she could always trust begin to feel like strangers to her, as she is forced through an uncomfortable journey full of lies and betrayals.

The serial adaptation of Confessions at 7:45 a.m. will be written by Charise Castro Smith. Castro Smith will also act as showrunner as well as executive producer of the show. Castro Smith Just Wrote the Screenplay for Disney’s Recent Oscar-Winning Movie Encanto. The powerhouse screenwriter, producer, playwright and TV actress has also lent her many talents to shows like Devious Maids, The Exorcist, Haunting of Hill Houseand bittersweet. Jessica Alba is also an executive producer in addition to starring in the upcoming thriller series.


After starring in the Fox series Black AngelAlba was a Hollywood it girl in the 2000s, appearing in many popular films, including Honey, Fantastic Four, Sin City, Into the Blueand good luck chuck. Alba is also known for her roles in later films like Machete and little fockers. In the 2010s, Alba shifted her focus from acting to becoming a businesswoman. In 2012, the actress-turned-entrepreneur founded The Honest Company, an eco-friendly consumer goods company that originally focused on more health-conscious alternatives to baby products, but has since expanded. now extended to beauty products and much more. Alba recently returned to acting with a starring role in the short-lived detective series Spectrum The best of LAand is also currently configured to appear opposite Mark Webber and Anthony Michel Salle in the next movie Sets off.

Netflix also has several other upcoming book adaptations up its sleeve, all in varying degrees of development. This month alone, audiences will get three novel-based series from the streamer, including Anatomy of a Scandal and Heart strokeboth based on novels of the same name, and Lincoln’s lawyeradapted from the novel The Brass Verdict. Other Netflix projects currently in development based on books include Catherine Bigelowthe new movie Dawn, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugoand the limited series All the light we can’t see.

Not much else is known about the series adaptation of Confessions at 7:45 a.m.but more details should be coming soon.
